Well of course. That's the sole reason I don't buy the first two Pokemon games of a generation, I KNOW there will be a third, better version soon enough.

Mine was a gift and it froze! its almost begging me to get the third one. Then again, i'd rather hold out for Gold version. I love me some nostalgia.

I lost interest in the series after Gold/Silver/Crystal. That was the best! Only one to have 16 badges, and you could go to Johto AND Kanto. Also it was the first to have the Day and Night system which disapeared in Ruby/Saphire/Emerald for some reason. Also the monsters after generation II sarted to look real unimaginative. And in Diamond and Pearl they all look bulky and disproportioned. But still, I play the old games and even play Diamond. Darkrai FTW! That's pretty much what I thought. Diamond was fun, but it didn't have the same charm as Pokemon RBY and GSC. One reason why I loved GSC which wasn't stated here was the phone system. It felt nice getting random calls from friends, who would sometimes tell you about special events, or call you in for a nice rematch. If GSC is remade, then I hope all of the original features are included. Oh yeah, Lugia is my all time favorite Pokemon.

I've only ever played Crystal and Diamond, myself... my cousin let me play a little bit of one of the GBC ones, but I'm not sure which one it was. So all the stuff I thought was brand new in Diamond turned out to be in previous versions I didn't know existed. XD

I haven't played Pearl in a while. When I do play, I'm usually just breeding Pokemon for high IVs. I named my Gardevoir Sera. :D Other than that...I guess I could try to, you know...CATCH 'EM ALL. But that's tedious, and there's no point if you can't even get Celebi. =( If you guys ever want to play or trade, we should PM each other when we're on!

The long awaited remakes of Gold and Silver have been announced! bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_HeartGold_and_SoulSilver_Versions
As this game is a remake of the pinnacle of pokemon before it all went down hill, I'll be getting this just for the sake of nastalgia. As Krys was a representation of Crystal version, a new girl, Soul (who dresses like Mario), will be taking her place. Gold and the PokeGear have both been redesigned, though I do like the new PokeGear if only for the fact that it reminds me of the henshin device of Kamen Rider Kabuto. Crystal to this day still holds the title for most content with it's day/night system, 16 badges, two regions, IR beam data transfer, TV remote link-up mystery gift thingy, cellphone link-up (japan only), and battle tower. The new versions will serpass this. And your starter will follow you around (like in Yellow)
And also...Those of you who stopped at G/S/C..missed out on al ot. Ruby and Sapphire was not only fun...it introduced a lot. The music is great too! We didn't stop there, we know the games after crystal were inferior because we played them. But it didn't introduce lot, only contests and double battles. That's literally it. And adding stuff losses meaning if they take away more than what they added.

I still need to FINISH G/S/C.
I was working on getting all the Pokemon and I even beat gold but with Silver I didn't get to the Final Four and move back to Kanto (I think).
Yeah, I was using an item dupe hack which was risky because you turn the power off while saving. I had been duping Rare Candies and various other items though I dunno if it was even possible in Crystal.
