Oh, no, I know what you mean. It kinda makes me mad reading that kind of stuff sometimes too. But I'm NOT doing that. Well, nothing yet. I'm actually trying to make a true to canon story... obviously you have to make stuff up with things that haven't happened yet, in MML3, which is why its a fanfic, but it's still a good way to show people how you think the timeline was, or should be...
Plus... MMZ is ridiculously filled with plotholes and is WAY too hard to sort ANYTHING out just in that series ALONE, let alone trying to tie it in with everything else.
Its alright, you don't have to read it if you DON'T want to, I would just really appreciate it. I remember that you were a good writer, so you would be honest with how it was, you know? speaking of, you could always help me fill in the gaps or how you think the series progressed logically. I think that would be a good discussion in this thread... sort of... how are all of the timelines connected, even including the hazy parts, like... what happened between classic and x to rockman? I plan on addressing that too... but MMZ seriously just makes my brain hemorrage... so I'll probably go into it, just very carefully...

[...]for the actual explanation to the other characters, it isn't really necessary that they understand everything about the past. I think they should sort of learn it on their own, or if they ask Megaman alone. The big exposition was for the readers enjoyment. Doing it all again would be ridiculous, so I'm not going to. Man, this is hard to respond to this quote using text...Took me 37 minutes to select my words and sentences while typing...I understand. However, let me say this. When I read a story (or watch it on TV) and I see a moment of awe, shock or surprise, I enjoy seeing the reaction and/or expression (and later on, their thoughts and emotion) of [Person A] being told this info or seeing it firsthand but my curious side wants to see the reaction and/or expression from [Person B], who is related to [Person A] in any way. (Friend, family, etc.) Once again, as an example, how will Roll react after being told about the instant biblical flood created by refractors? If I wrote a story, the only reason I would do this is for additional character development. (And I would satisfy my curios side while doing so.) As for Aero[...]being a plot device... I mean... Isn't everyone? Lol I mean.... Megaman is a plot device, and so is Tron. What I meant to say by her being a plot device is that she is gonna be useless for the majority of the game until the final parts of the game leading to the Final Boss when you, Aero herself or someone else, discover something about her that leads up to a deux ex machina. Now that I think about it, I know why she doesn't sit well with me and since I'm studying to (hopefully, although I'm starting to have second thoughts) be a programmer for video games (in terms of working with the game engine, animations, unlocks, etc.), I'll explain it this way. (although I don't know all the details.) In the first phase of game development, the team has a meeting first to throw around ideas for the game such as gameplay, features, genres, and the like. One of the important things during the meeting (probably at the end) is the story and unless the game has a focus on multiplayer (Monday Night Combat, Blacklight: Tango Down, the majority of SHUMP-type games), you focus on the story first, especially for RPGs. I should have thought of it sooner when I first saw it but this is the first sign of the game not having a tight plot. Usually, probably by the time a game is first announced, most if not, all of the story has been completed. Sure, some things here and there will be changed, either because it's a better idea than the previous one or to meet the deadline before the game goes gold (development stops at this point in order to produce copies of the game to be sent to retail stores for the release date, probably doesn't apply to downloadable games) but the main core plot of the story remains the same. Why did the MML3 team announced that they're accepting suggestions from the fans? In the case of the above picture, sure, voice actors are needed for the cutscenes and other lines of dialogue and this will them choose the voices for the characters, those boss characters will probably be used as side bosses and those ideas might help the team in creating more gameplay features. But they couldn't choose one out of 9 models for the new female character by themselves and decided to let the fans be the final word on it? Don't get me wrong; I like the idea that the fan community is part of the development team but if I did the same thing, I would put a limit on what the fans can do. Trigger was x at some point, but not anymore. He knows nothing about x, who he was. He is Megaman volnutt, and people keep making assumptions that x is just suddenly gonna appear and fuck everything up. No. X will be very important for Megaman learning about himself, but honestly, he thing you really need to understand is that this story's main final focus will be classic. Not x. All the better. From what I understand, Trigger used to be X but he went through a 'Unit Convertion' and as such, all of his memories was erased and his body was changed. Trigger's body and mind used to be X's before the conversion. That module that X talks about (I'm guessing here, please don't tell me Typhon. I'll find out when I read that chapter.) probably contains most if not, all of his weapons and abilities. X also says that "it was created in my initial form," which leads me to believe that X himself used to be Rock before Dr. Light (for whatever reason) changed him to become X. not really directing all that at u neo, more at the guy who keeps reviewing saying x is his favorite incarnation of Megaman. Well, he isn't mine, Sooo.... Lol I understand. We all have our favorite Megaman series. Mine is the X series- *Typhon charges the Shining Laser* WHOA!!! CALM DOWN, MAN!!! LET ME FINISH FIRST!!! ... *Typhon deactivates the Shining Laser* *whew* Anyway, yes, mine is the X series because I like some of the characters from there but that doesn't mean that I hate the Classic series. I also like it. Hell, Megaman 8 was the first Megaman game I've ever played, back when I was 4 or 5 years old. Now to SIMSteven. In picking up what I can catch here by what you've been posting about, this is exactly why I don't read fanfics. It's too much straying from what's canon. True but in the case of Megaman fanfics, I expect such things since Capcom never bothered to give an accurate time line between the series other than they're own and after reading the plot for Megaman Online, never cared as well. Back to Typhon. I think that would be a good discussion in this thread... sort of... how are all of the timelines connected, even including the hazy parts, like... what happened between classic and x to rockman? ...Rockman and Classic are the same. What are you talking about? Anyway, I would be cautious about that if I were you. We might have some heated arguments in the future. Damn, 4 and a half hours just for this post...

Lol, heated arguments are what happen anyway... you haven't been on here long enough, go read the threads. hilarious good times. Everyone is really funny here.
Right, so, your replies were good, but I think you misunderstood me cause I didn't really make what I said that clear.
When I said I wasn't going to tell them, I didn't really mean "not say anything at all about it", that wouldn't work, they have to know, so I can just pull like... a Harry Potter where they are like
"Harry told Ron and Hermione everything that happened in chapter 6"
Ron: "Bloody Hell!" Hermione: "Oh Harry!"
You know... you get their reactions and their responses and everything, but not have to write everything out all over again... you know? just seems tedious... but I kind of want to focus on new plot developments and character interactions too. I'm sure as they all go on this journey with Megaman together, they will all learn more about the past, and about him. I mean, he doesn't know anything at this point either, right? So it's better for the characters to learn and the reader learns.
Like in Chapter 1, I had a review from a guy on here named Cere, and he thought it was kind of stupid to have Megaman basically say what the reader is thinking out loud, but I thought it kind of added to it, and if you DIDN'T understand what was being said, Megaman filled the blanks. Seems to be a good writing style for these anime type things.... they are always pulling crap like that...
speaking of writing out long things... shouldn't I just finish the chapter instead of write this? lol
I'll continue after... ahaha
As for Aero... I do see what you mean, but I'm not so sure she will be useless... and I think you are putting way too much into the whole fan development thing. The boss characters are really just, like... Reaverbots and/or the Bonnes robots. Doesn't change anything about the game mechanics, but allows the people to see their own ideas in the game. They don't change anything, there would have BEEN a boss there, with its own plot development, they just let fans pick what it looked like. Same with Aero... It wasn't like they put some random fan made chick in the game and are just expected to just MAKE her fit in somewhere, they knew what they were doing before hand, then they scheduled things with the devroom that, really, aren't important, but are related and let you get glimpses of the game mechanics and design before you play. So they, really, let you know about cool stuff, but don't actually tell you anything at all. Its just a marketing ploy, but don't just assume that they have nothing already planned out. Trust me, if they were counting on fans actually developing the game storyline and everything, Capcom would never ever let it happen. They just try to get you interested by doing this... Wouldn't you play a game with a girl you helped design? You "design" what she looks like, but we don't know anything about her character. I'm reserving judgement on Aero and all that until the games actually come out. The only reason I didn't like her before was because, as you would know if you ever peruse these boards, I'm a staunch Roll/Megaman shipper hahaha
As for Trigger not being X...
Yes... I don't really want people thinking this is a story like that. and obviously yes the unknown item is important, and obviously it has something to do with X's old abilities, I wasn't really trying to hide that fact... just something you would kind of understand, you know? so not really a big reveal here or anything with that, it's probably just how that will tie in with everything later that will be cooler...
to the X series....
Not what I meant. I really liked the X series, they were fun and whatnot, it just wasn't my favorite. Legends is, then probably Classic. X and Zero were just a little too friendly lol... Go read Bob and George, pretty good summary of my feelings on the x series... dark and dreary... Bob and George got me to freaking love the classic series, cause it was just so so so so so funny. Obviously not plot canon. God I seriously just laughed out loud just now remembering some of those comics haha...
As for Sim... Well he's gleaning what he wants out of these posts, but he doesn't read the stories. I'm not going out of canon like crazy... just let me know when I cross over Naruto into Megaman, and then go out and kill me like a small dog.
Rockman and classic...
I meant like... what happened to the original Megaman in between the classic series and the x series. I just called him rockman to distinguish between that megaman and the others. obviously it didn't work every well haha...

you haven't been on here long enough, go read the threads. hilarious good times. Everyone is really funny here. Well, I just got here so of course I didn't know about that....then again, I'm not planing to stay around for long, maybe for a year. Yes, I am a legends fan but I don't see what I can contribute here other than sharing my thoughts. I could always try music... *sigh* Sorry about my half-rant on that. It's just that I don't trust Capcom at this point. They're not the same company from a decade ago anymore and that worries me. Sure, maybe they have things all planed out before they made the announcement and they have a good story where she's part of it or... *Quick Google search later* Maybe this game completely disregards the first 2 games and it's actually a reboot....but that's fiction. Here are the facts. - It has yet to be greenlit by Capcom.
- A month after the Tsunami/Quake combo, it has been announced that the project is now restarting....wait. "Restarting?" Don't they mean "resuming" or do they actually mean "restarting?" UPDATE: I decided to check the devroom. It seems like it's resuming, not restarting but with so little info released about the game itself, it might as well be a restart.

Lovely. When do we get an update on the story Typhon? If the update's hidden in the walls of text then I apologize. Way late at night.

I'm thinking about separating this chapter into two parts like I did last time, I'll just stop where I am right now, but go back through and flesh out what I wrote, sometimes it just all comes out and I don't think I actually say it right....
Or maybe just a big chapter... I don't know...
I'm working on it... this one is already 20 pages long, and I'm only about half way through the stuff I needed to cover... so... yeah haha... gotta make sure stuff comes out right though... I don't want people to stop reading because it's getting crappy...

In picking up what I can catch here by what you've been posting about, this is exactly why I don't read fanfics. It's too much straying from what's canon. I mean, Elpizo KILLED X's inactive body in MMZ2 although X's spirit still remained as a Cyber Elf. It's also kinda like how Zero killed his original body in MMZ3 but his Cyber Elf spirit was in the body we play as. This is just one example of what I'm talking about in the whole "straying from canon" thing I was talking about. Well, what if you tried thinking about this as an alternate continuity? Typhon's story is quite fun to read in its own right so I haven't let its non canon nature keep me from reading something I might otherwise enjoy. And from what I understand, a different author than the original's often writes the sequel to a popular work, thus making the sequel a fan work too, until the owner of the story accepts the way his story has been continued and makes the sequel canon. Now to be realistic, there's probably no chance Capcom will make Typhon's story canon, but I don't think it's a bad sequel at all. And I'm looking forward to reading the new chapters once my finals are over with.

Well... I'm splitting the freaking chapter into two, because I guess I like keeping the chapters to a certain length... After a while there should be a break between ideas.... Otherwise I'd just keep on writing forever and it would be hard to create chapter divisions. Please edit and review this one.... I feel like its a complete mess, seeing as how it feels only half done (which technically it is....) I'd just hate the idea of people not wanting to read further cause I screw up a chapter.... tell me what you think? (btw no, I wrote THIS post first, then copy pasted it onto the story lol) Attachments:

Ha...
So I just read all about this new "Barrett" character and whatnot, as the leader of the weakest gang on the island, the "Bright Bats"
I mean, come on...
That's exactly what I was freaking going to do with the Red Digger Syndicate... They were the gang in charge of the island...
And before you say "But Typhon, that came out forever ago, how do we know you didn't just write that AFTER you read that..."
Well to answer, I don't actually check the devroom very much, if at all... I just kinda get pissed when I see Tron and Roll taking a backseat on this... Now even more so...
But seriously, you can't make this stuff up...
Now I gotta throw Barrett in there too somehow, don't I? He's canon now... I think the Bright Bats will be their own little "gang" that they formed out of the red digger syndicate, that Red controls and bosses around, and even though Barrett and Aero work for him, they still believe in honor and real digging, but they are too indebted to Red to escape. Sounds plausible... Means there are other gangs on the island too... Did you see the video of the launch site too? They saw it from their Island... So very very cool... I'm honestly so excited about the game, I almost don't want to write this anymore cause when the game actually comes out, no one is gonna freaking read it... It would be ridiculously OOC... But hey, whatever, I've already scored points
I predicted the gangs on the island about a month before we heard anything about it.
I just want that I record
Typhon 1... Capcom..... 90808423848092
Yes, I will be keeping score from now on in how many things I get right lol

I still haven't read any of it but you know, you really have that scenario cut out for you and you don't even realize it.
So this Red whatever gang is in charge? And the Bright Bats are the weakest gang? Time for some good old-fashioned gang rivalry to rise up in the ranks.
Barrett's also helping out BOTH families. He's kinda helping them build the rocket, digging for parts, and fighting back Reaverbots since the Elder System is activating and all.

I know right!? It's so cool! Well I'll explain to you cause u haven't read it. I wrote in my story that klicklen island ( or however u spell it) is secretly being control through fear basically by a group called the red digger syndicate, which is supposed to be a very subtle throwback to the group "red alert" from one of the previous series. Basically in my story they are like, diggers gone bad, and aero has been stuck working for them since her parents died when she was a kid. I didn't get the timing down though, cause I didn't know anything about this, cause I actually wrote that u don't even meet aero until they come back down from Elysium. In fact, they accidentally crash landed on top of her lol. So I got that wrong, but I liked the idea of gang rivalry you said. In fact it's basically going to happen like this... Red is going to use aero to attempt to blackmail and use the caskett family because they r so famous, red, the actual leader, is going to manipulate someone and try to turn them against Megaman for his own gain, and in the end the bright bats are gonna betray the syndicate and help them somehow (I know how, but I have to change it no, cause it's originally supposed to be just aero, now I gotta throw Barrett in there too)
Very cool. U know another thing I like about this is that it doesnt quite mean that the bonnes and everyone will be enemies. In my story so far, the bones have really been helping everyone. Not to say that won't change, it's just that the end of the second game really makes them much more good then evil. I wonder how the actual game will handle that. Speaking of; do u know if they will actually be the enemy again through most of it? I wanna make sure, so I stay as close to canon and possible...

It's still unknown.
A lot of people were worried that MM would be fighting Tron due to the Bonne Mecha contest. Seems like we're wrong and Barrett's the one who's gonna fight her.
So all we know is that the Bonnes and Casketts are still on friendly terms although that's still not on stable ground.

In my story so far, the bones have really been helping everyone. *just had to point it out and chuckle* Honestly, I believe that the Bonnes will attempt in some way to go back to their old ways, they've been far too... goodie-goodie thus far. and I haven't seen any mention of Glyde, Bola, or Klaymoor as of yet, unless I'm forgetting or missing something, so you could play around with that. Some people think Glyde is dead due to the train car "accident", but honestly. If the Bonnes can survive the Fokkerwolf explosion, then Glyde can survive a train car explosion. You still have a few more elements to play around with Typhon; you just have to think a little outside the box.
