Ok, I never thought I'd say this, but I just made the MegaMan Legends 3 board. I almost forgot how to add boards. So yeah, good call #42, might as well make it now. Feel free to create threads about Legends 3 here!

Also the forums have become more active today than they have been in the past... what, 4 years? I said it all along -- "NiGHTS took eleven years to get a sequel; we're not quite there yet." Lo and behold...eleven years. It won't be released in 2010, that's for sure, so we're probably looking at a 2011 release date. Amazing... And yes, I just changed my login time back to "Forever". I'll probably be spending a LOT more time here and on TMMN/MMLS. This is the game of the decade, people! Our wildest dreams came true and Inafune has kept his promise to himself and his fans. We're rooting for you, Inafune-san!

What? This topic is crazy SIM, haha. I guess it'll make sense after you fill everything in. But... "useful" links? I wouldn't list the MLU homepage I haven't updated it in years. Looks like I have my work cut out for me... holy crap MegaMan Legends 3. But anyways, yeah as of this post we really only know it's being developed for the 3DS. Other than that, I'm just thrilled it's finally announced. I wonder if I should make an actual section on the board for Legends 3? Maybe wait till there's more info? This is ridiculous I still don't know how to react to this I'm in shock. A lot of the plot summaries and such are there because of the nature of the fan-based project. The primary reason for those is to keep everything in perspective when the time comes for the community to start pitching in. Having written a walkthrough for each game, I felt that I could start writing about these things and you can also edit those posts if you'd like to hit upon anything I miss. I can probably answer any question within the known realms of what we already have about MML, though.

Make sure to get a retail job after you're done to let off some steam.
College takes a lot out of you......
EDIT: Zero debate section added..... some people want him and others don't.
EDIT 2: Rockman Perfect works for tie-in info. If anyone's able to clarify a few points there then please do so.

One other thing that I didn't realize about this announcement too was that seeing old members coming back to make it like it used to be really is quite exciting in and of itself.
Welcome Back Dia!
I really have to admire Sim in watching this place for so long I think he is the only one that actually stayed here all this time.

Welcome back Dia , It's nice to see you! Here's my opinion on the sequel: I hope that when they say that fans will have a bigger part of the game development then ever before, it means that they will set up polls about what special weapons will be included, and other "game-play features". Rather than polls about how key plot events will occur or whether to include zero. Speaking of Zero I don't think he should be involved in the plot very much if he is included. A reaverbot boss that looks like him would be nice. Or Capcom could also make a rival digger for Megaman who wears red armor and is called "Zero", but none of the storyline that follows him should be carried over into mml3. I mostly agree with SIM that his "darker" past conflicts with the lightheartedness of mml. Despite this, my stance on zero is pretty neutral, I wouldn't mind very much if they gave him a large plot role. How will Megaman get off the " ??" zone Sera stranded him on? My guess is that Yuna or Megaman will whip out a plot device and warp back to the physical realm, Roll and company will arrive not long after Megaman and his harem land back on the Elysium library. After that I have no idea what could happen. With Megaman on the 3DS the touch screen and 3D options could make playing very fun, also the Nintendo 3DS has much greater graphics capabilities than a ps1. There will most likely be a touch screen menu-system. The 3D features could make some of the cut-scenes very surreal, especially for a hand-held system. The music could sound better and hopefully capcom can get a composer capable of capturing the "charm" that the first 2 games possessed.

It may not be polls but it might be its own seperate Suggestion Box or Feedback forum so go take a look at how Capcom does that.
Considering things went with the Mother Zone, Yuna teleported in there and Sera teleported MegaMan in there to begin with so they could definitely teleport him back to Elysium. In fact, I may be a special zone within Elysium, like a long ways above the Residential Quarter. To be honest, I never looked straight down through the floor while I was fighting Sera.
Getting back to Terra is another thing though, because Elysium has been shut down and they're stuck out in space.

Urgh, I feel bad for being such a slowpoke at expressing my excitement about MML3. I feel like a traitor for saying this, but I have mixed feelings about the long awaited sequel. For a while now, I've been dreading the perhaps inevitable sequel not just because I was worried that the next game might not be as good, but also because it will likely explain the many mysteries in MML. I really enjoyed taking part in the fan speculations so knowing that our theories will soon be displaced by the official story is a bit disappointing. Furthermore, over the years I committed myself to making a fan game numerous times. I already knew that I had wasted a lot of time and money on those projects, and the true MML3 will make it seem doubly pointless. The thing that came to my mind when the news hit me is where do I go from here? So you see, I have a hard time pretending to be as excited as everyone else is. I wish I could experience the same pure excitement, but I find myself sighing a lot as I write this. Would I rather preferred that MML3 never came out? No, I wouldn't even if I could because I would be depriving everyone of the joy of playing the next game (and Inafune's joy of expanding his favourite series). Fan projects are a queer avenue to express one's creativity. Thinking about it, people who make fan games, art, and fictions really don't have any right to appropriate someone else's characters and story for their own purposes the way we do. I'm sure there are numerous rhetoric in support of fan projects but in the end, I never decided if it's something I feel comfortable doing. I just went along with it like everyone else. It's easier writing how I feel now now that I'm no longer a teenager so being emo carries less of a social stigma (God, I hope nobody's shaking their head right now). To sum it up, the fact that MML3 is being made means I can finally put the burden of a MML fan project behind me. I feel more at ease than I ever have since I got into this fan game nonsense.
Unrelated but still relevant. I finally bought a DSlite last month so imagine my disappointment when I found out that MML3 is 3DS exclusive. OTL
Lastly, welcome back Dia and everyone else who've returned.
Edit: ....Wait a minute, am I even allowed to pour my heart out in this thread!? After all, I didn't contribute anything to the discussion of MML's story or characters 0_0

That makes the whole 3DS issue even more irritating for us, doesn't it? BUT, it looks like the 3DS is capable of running more advanced games than the DS, so that's good news for MML3. I just keep looking at that silver lining.

After all, I didn't contribute anything to the discussion of MML's story or characters 0_0 I dont see why you really need to feel that way. Yes some of your Theories will be dismissed, but you will still have a lot to go on after MML3(I imagine) that you still have going. As for the art etc that you bought that was always changing anyway. You actually bought a bunch that I figured after a while that you decidd not to use anyway. Regardless you can still use that for things after MML3. Honestly the big reason I was doing a fan game was because there was no MML3, and it looked like it would never happen. Once I saw the ever increasing teases and hints I started shifting gears and preparing for it. Although everyone that did not had every reason not to lol. Anyway Cere I think this game will just bring you more inspiration on a future fan game than you had before. Ever since I started researching the 3DS my mind has been swimming with ideas. Depending on how the fan input systems work I'll either be posting them here or giving them to their suggestion system for MML3

Cere, have you ever heard of Doujin gaming? "Doujin" games are the same thing as Doujins are to Mangas (fanmade vs official).
While you don't have to make MegaMan Legends 3 out of your fan game, you can make your own story as long as you don't make MegaMan Legends, and as long as it's mostly true to the games and the characters aren't out of character, it won't be equivalent to a "slashfic," either. You don't have to completely scrap your project just because of this.

I had thought you would feel like this Cere...
there's a canonical sequel to the cliffhanger of mml2, but that doesn't mean you can't keep making your fangame =).
I will definitely play the canon mml3 with joy and I will also play your fangame (If you ever finish) with the same zeal!
I would love to see how Keji Inafune the creator of mml would continue the story where mml2 left off, even so I would love just as much to see the way you continue the story with your alternate mml3. I loved reading about the characters and events in the little bit of your fan-game you revealed and I can't wait to see the way you continue it =)

haha Had to come back to check out this place once I heard the news. I could not freaking believe it. I was at Tokyo Game Show this year, and I feel a little bit robbed that it wasnt announced there! That would of been the reveal of a lifetime... Damn you nintendo conferences, why must you be seperate like that anyways, this news is CRAZY! I would love to see a Bass or Zero Equivalent...more people who are somewhat similar to Trigger's position? heck, maybe even a RUSH lol The Pirate angle is overdone, I like who we have so no more pirates please~ and I personally didnt like the reaverbot people at all. Looking back over MML2, the reaverbot peeps, mother, Matilda and Joe just felt kind of...rushed? MML1 was perfect because it was a story that wrapped up wonderfully and was self contained with alot of mystery left. MML2 came along and while I loved how it played and looked, it was plot device paradise. I dont think a Zero would angst up the story...I think the Legends story has a lot of WE ARE ALL PAWNS THAT CAN BE RESET thing going for it at all times...It can Handle another Megaman unit running around part of Elysiums infrastructure.
