Just wondering what exactly this brings to the table? I haven't played the game since the Third, but heard the fourth was horrible and could honestly skip it without missing anything in the story.
So, what does the DS version of MMBN 5 compare to the twin set on the Advance? Was curious due to the fact i wanted to pick up the series again.
Thank you in advance!

The DS version, in addition to intertwining the stories of both games (Team ProtoMan and Team Colonel), AND providing easy folder customization via the touch screen (YAYNESS TOUCH SCREEN!!!), also (and this is the clincher!) allows you to obtain BassSoul and perform the powerful BassCross! However, to obtain BassSoul, you must have already gotten the Bass icon in either of the GBA games. One more neat feature: by cheering into the DS mic, you can affect MegaMan's emotional status - in other words, if Mega is starting to get worried, rally him with a little cheering and he'll steady himself. Makes the game a bit more like the Rockman anime, with Netto cheering Rockman on.

So, more or less, it is just an optional combination of the Advance version of the games? No real special features or what not?

Ah just, look into it. GameFAQs or whatever, it's more then a port of 2 GBA games, a lot more. All the music is remastered, there are a lot of exclusive chips, lots of bonuses for having previous games in the GBA slot, 3D models for all of MegaMan's forms, and even the other navis you can operate, touch screen fun stuff like folder editing and menu selection, being able to swap team navis for their other version's counterpart in the middle of missions, and the best feature, being able to take your Liberation Mission team members outside of missions. It lets you switch and operate any team member navi in the regular cyber world. Switching is as easy as touching the screen and all 12 of the team navis are at your full disposal whenever you want to play as them.
BN5 by itself as a GBA game was amazing, my favorite game of the conventional BN series. The DS version is easily the best way to play the game and a must for anyone looking to get back into BN. After the first 3 started to give off a repetitive taste, this game introduces a lot of unique features and offers an experience unique from the first 3 games, and still delivers a plot that shows BN can still be lively with it's overall story.

Been looking for the first Phoenix Wright for a while, but I might actually get it today. I stopped play BN after the fourth (Yeah, I actually kinda liked it... :D... I liked the Souls a lot, though the story was...non-existent.) Watched 1-10 of Ryuusei no Rockman and really wanted to get back into BN. =)

Welp, should be here in a few days. Had to order is seeing as NO game store around here carries MMBN games. But much copies Digimon World for the DS. Which i have no temptation to buy. At all. Nope.

I remember a year ago I used to see some EB Game stores around still carrying new MegaMan Battle Network 2s.
Oh, the good old GBA days. =(

Just got it in the mail yesterday, started it at work. Just got my DbleSoul thingy that lets me merge with Knightman (playing Team Colonel first). I hate Knightman's merge. So yeah, I was confused on the save thing, when I beat the game and start Team Protoman, do I start a new save file or save over my old one?

There are 2 separate save files, one for each version.

That's convenient. Always was upset that the Battle Network games only had a single save file, 'cause I would have replayed some if it weren't for erasing.
Out of curiosity, with those separate save files, are they able to trade/transfer chips and such between each other? Or would you have to have a whole 'nother MegaMan Battle Network 5: Double Team to trade with?
