an X9, made in the same format of X8, with little or no 3-D levels, Lumine's return, and the playable Navigators?
or...
Command Mission 2. With all it's awesome RPG-ness (for lack of a better word). and of course, all the characters would return. even spider. =0 but.. it'd have to be the real spider. not redips. >.>

MMXCM2 would be by far the better choice. The "traditional" platforming X series seemed to have burned out by X8, and Command Mission revived the good old days while throwing a whole new twist into the gameplay and making three-dimensional play actually fit into the MegaMan X universe. I would absolutely LOVE to see Command Mission 2 as much as I would Legends 3.
But no, Spider couldn't come back. His name is "Redips" spelled backward since they're both the same guy. Capcom already pulled the "resurrected-Maverick-turned-Hunter" thing with Zero, and I doubt it'd be as convincing with the relatively little-known Spider. And just putting in another Spider would ruin the storyline's continuity. Pity, too - I really liked Spider until he flipped his name backward. ;D

Actually... Redips had to either kill or capture "Spider" in order to copy his DNA data, so a "Spider" does atually exist...

Personally Command Mission for the same reason as NintendoMasterGC...But i would prefer Legends 3 better....
I hate the 3-d version of the X series but have yet to play 8 because of my severe hatred for 7

I would best prefer a regular X SNES-style game, like they did with the original series. It would be nostalgic, yet somewhat fresh.
Out of the two choices, I would go with Command Mission 2. I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy X 8 at all.
