I've played it pretty recently, so I believe that he does because he is dr.wileys robot. Play MegaMan 4 to understand better.

This topic is about Megaman, not Megaman Battle Network.
I thought so too, but he helps you TWICE in the game. So now what?

Ahem, let me explain... ProtoMan is indebted to Wily during MegaMan 3... you see, before ProtoMan was fully created, he ran away from Light and Wily. Then, 2 games later, Dr. Wily found him. ProtoMan was in his incomplete form, and had lots of problems. Dr. Wily repaired ProtoMan, and after that, ProtoMan decided to work for Wily, no matter what. However, after confronting MegaMan a few times, ProtoMan saw what was going on, and silently decided to take a neutral position in the Wily Wars. Also... he only called himself BreakMan because he wasn't sure if MegaMan knew about his lost brother ProtoMan.

thats why he looked familiar. I just thought Wily made a clone of Protoman and called him Breakman.
Why was he blue in the ending where he saves Megaman? To add suspense or what?
besides having his mouth covered up,what other physical changes are noted between Breakman and Protoman?

ProtoMan was blue to add a shadowy look to him, just to make it all mysterious. And the only difference between ProtoMan and BreakMan is the mask, nothing more.

Too bad he couldn't have changed his fighting style....its always the same thing. He jumps then fires in the air.
If you ever fight him again does it get more challenging?

The next time they fight is in MegaMan 7, and that's when they basically decide to finally see which one is stronger. Protoman does his Charge Shot, as well as his Dash Attack. He still does his usual jump and shoot, but on the third jump, he'll angle his ProtoBuster and fire multiple shots in different directions. But other then that, MegaMan and ProtoMan never really fight each other again.

in Megaman Power Fighters 2 Dr. Light said Protoman had something wrong with his "Energy output" or something like that and that he would be destroyed.
What does he mean by that? what happened to put Protoman in that situation?

I'm not sure if Dr. Light was talking about an actual event that caused ProtoMan's abnormity, but ProtoMan was never actually finished, he left the lab while he was still very incomplete. He suffered a lot before MegaMan 3, then Dr. Wily sorta, fixed him, but I think ProtoMan will never be fully operational until Dr. Light actually completes him. I always thought this is what Dr. Light meant, he needs to finish ProtoMan, or else ProtoMan will exceed himself, and end up dieing.

We don't know. In the original series timeline, MegaMan 2: The Power Fighters is the very last game for it. So we'll never know what happens to ProtoMan until a new game comes out.

I guess it's the same thing with him like with Bass. Unless they make some other Megaman X games that add a LITTLE bit if detail all late, then it's gonna be up to the fans to see what happens. haha I didn't even know Megaman and X were the same person until I FINALLY got past a spot in Chill Penguin's stage and you talked to Dr. Light... Some things always elude your mind; no matter how many pieces of the puzzle you have.

Megaman and X AREN'T the same person, Dr. Light built X in case the future world needed someone to fight for good, and even Keiji Inafune said that Megaman and X ARE NOT the same person.
