Ok it says in Barrles report Roll is the one who named him MegaMan after her favorite game character.
But then how is it possible that in MM Legends 1 the last boss is also another MegaMan? I dought MM Juno's creator named him after there favorite game too. =/

MegaMan Juno called MegaMan MegaMan Trigger, and Roll named MegaMan after a video game character named MegaMan... I think it's a coincedence, nothing more. I mean, a prefix like Mega and a word like Man, I mean... it's possible for it all to be a coincedence.

Either there's something deep behind all this that we have no clue about, or it's just a big coincidence. Personally, I go for the deep thingy. Remember, the carbons were created by the Ancients. MegaMan could be a part of what they were given. MegaMan Volnutt's name just happened to turn out to be MegaMan.

Another thing to think about is HOW Roll could name him if they were the same age. O.o

Maybe he was nameless for 5 years... heh heh
I wonder what it says in Rockman DASH 2, I'm almost willing to get that ONE part translated, to see if the Japanese version still mentions Roll naming Rockman.

In Rockman DASH 2, it's Barrel who names him Rock so they would be like... Rock and Roll. I swear Barrel must be indirectly related to Light

Hey, it's a game. People make mistakes when translating them. Just look at Zero Wing!

Hey, it's a game. People make mistakes when translating them. Just look at Zero Wing! I was just saying, and somehow I get the feeling they change the names on perpus at times. Zero wing? Yeah people still make fun of that =/

I think they changed the history of Rock (i.e. Megaman) Volnutt's name on purpose...

That's Capcom of America for ya, they only really seem to change names, poorly translate games, and do little to no promotion for the games.
BUT! With just their recent actions, they have totally redeemed themselves for all there stupid crap they put MegaMan fans through. With the announcement of MegaMan Anniversary Collection and the recent marketing blitz with MegaMan's 15th anniversary, I forgive CoA for all there mistranslations, annoying name changes, and other stuff they could've easily done... better. Hopefully Capcom of America is turning over a new leaf, and will acknowledge MegaMan's exhistence a lot more now, even after the anniversary.

Dude, it's not just Capcom. It's basically Japanese games in general. I don't think there's one company that doesn't change stuff. It's just you hear about it more with the bigger companies like Capcom and Square. Some of those Japanese names are hard to pronounce, or don't sound "American." Sometimes game companies short us out of things, and sometimes give us other stuff. Then they change other things because it will help prevent lawsuits (Servbot 40, anyone?).
Sometimes I really wish that they'd keep stuff in the game. Like in .hack. There's a comedy mode that you get in Japan. You play through the game again but the dialect is much more funny. What do we Americans get? The Japanese script instead of the comedy mode. In Dark Cloud, we don't get the back room key for the Gallery of Time, but we get a 100 level dungeon instead.
