Well there isn't a Speed run for MML2 on youtube yet, and it was once my favorite game, so I think I should do it.
What time should I shooting for?

Do it twice in a row, once to know the ropes of what you need to do, and the second for a full-speed run.

I just did it with a time of: 2:59:17
I watched a little of some of the cutscenes, and there were a few spots I could have done faster. This was the first time I have ever tried to do a speed run on any game.

I didn't get to select the difficulty so I think it was normal.

*BUMP POWER!!!* If you're just trying to show off the locations and some tactics, any difficulty setting works. Doing a speed run essentially is just completing a game as fast as you can, ignoring cutscenes, and flashing through dialouges. The fastest times will always be on the easiest settings, but it's always been more impressive to me to do these things on the hardest settings (In this case, Very Hard).
That, and I keep getting turned around looking for places because I keep forgetting to use the map. T-T

I don't usually speed-run games for some reason. i guess if it's a game i like i play it again to experience every part of it again and feel like i'm missing something if i just skip every cutscene and go as fast as i can.

I'm the same way, ohseven. If it's a game I love, I'll play it through more often than a game I don't, and when I do replay it I'll continue to watch all the cutscenes and get as much as I can, trying to get even more on the re-play. For what it's worth, I've done a 100% run of Mega Man Legends, and I'm not sure what percentage I've of Mega Man Legends 2. In the first one, I even upgraded all my weapons to max. But it's so expensive to do in Legends 2 that I haven't yet done it all.

Yeah, but sometimes I do skip scenes that I completely remember. Like I played a part of MGS2 and didn't save, then played the same part today, but just ignored some of the cutscenes.

I'm kind of anal about that. If I play through something and watch a cutscene, but have to replay it again, I don't feel right skipping past it. I have to watch the cutscene again. lol
