I had tried to search several threads, but there didn't seem to anything to answer my question.
How many weeks/ months can pass before a thread can be called dead and may not be necroposted on? Two months? Three months? The reason why I am asking is that there are some threads that I am intrigued in, but the dates of their last post made me wary in posting there.
Your quick response shall be much obliged.

Essentially it's when someone posts in a topic that has passed its course, people have moved on, and discussion on the subject is exhausted or died out completely.
It's probably not defined by an amount of time, but more-or-less when the only person responding to the topic is the necroposter. This is especially so when there isn't really anything that they add to the topic.
However, it's there's new information that gets people talking again, it might be worth necroposting. For example, if there's a hints of a new game being released but 6 months down the road it actually gets annouced, and there's major factors pointing towards its release in the 6-month-old thread, then maybe it's worth bumping to catch peoples' attentions.
