So, I was thinking that if people have started working their way back onto the site, we should talk about where we've been all this time, and all the old members can sit down and have a good helping of POODING together. As many of you know, I was locked in the food fighting thread for two years lol... But I plan on writing a little reunion summary of my life in just a bit, just have to finish some thanksgiving dessert lol

So I'm back... And the dessert was good, of course... After departing MMLU for my hiatus, I went To Michigan state university, got my bachelors of arts in prelaw, and bachelors of science in psychology, and am going to med school very soon. I've missed out on alot here, and I wanna hear from you guys and what's been going on, and the new people, what you are up to, and why you love legends, and Roll. Cause if you don't love her you can just get out lol. And I know, I know the general thread has user introductions and all that, but who would want to freaking go through 74 pages of that? Blehhh....

Me? I got swept up into the DooM fanbase by a friend for this long. I spent most of that time playing Skulltag, one of the source ports of it. Then I got swept into the Baldur's gate series, Mass Effect, and then to Borderlands and back here. I tend to drift a lot. Although that's not all I did. I also found a few career patch that I feel right for me and what I think I would like doing.

I was gone for almost four years now, I got distracted with school and other TV shows. I made a small re-appearance in 2008, mostly on the comment of the Vocaloid MML2 ending. And now, with the upcoming MML3, I decided to station myself back here, as an active user.

Soooo I remember a beautiful time... A long long time ago when the boards were
TOTALLY MANIC AND FLIPPING AWESOME
We had some sweet rp sessions. And I want these boards to COME ALIVE! I haven't nailed a tronite to the wall by their thumbs yet, or been locked in the food fight thread for two years again. I think it's time I start Throwing POODING bombs till everyone comes out of their comas!!
Or start an all legends cast only RP.... yeah, that might work better. I've spent the last couple days reading old threads about the good times people had with me, and me with them, like 4677, sim, hell I went and found the thread where damage had his own proboards site and we spammed the bejesus out of it... Still an amazing time. I guess I just wanted to post this to say... Thanks SD and to everyone that made this site truly awesome, to have me still coming back after, what, seven years? Course, we've lost a few hilarious friends, like asbestos shoes, And bluerobotgirl (nooooooooooo) haha but I'm still amazed at how easy it was to come on here and post like nothing has changed, and I'm glad it hasn't.
To MLU, SD, and to everyone...........
...... ...... ...... Roll is way better than Tron and she can take purple shirt and lame stretch pants and start walking, cause this is a Roll board now!! ( and I guess sim can have yuna, cause let's face it, no one else wants her hahha)
Oh... And thanks!!!

"Your looking as good as ever, well as good as you can considering how that good-for-nothing blonde treats you." "She gets to relax while you run around getting shot at, don't you think that's alittle strange?" "Haven't you ever noticed that she's taking some of the money you give her for weapons development FOR HERSELF? Shes skimming off the top and you don't even realize it." "She makes you all sorts of equipment and weapons right? Do you really think it costs THAT much?" "You really are think aren't you? She was showing off how much money she got just by stealing from you!" "She might look sweet and innocent but how do you know what she's REALLY like?"

Oooh god forbid, a new member posting in the reunion thread! (couldn't fight the compulsion)
I do like Roll a little better than Tron, but I see where all of the Tronites are coming from, and I have absolutely nothing against them. The Manda Island scene does arouse a few questions, and what Tron says really can't be proven, or disproven, it's mostly "food for thought" and a good verbal attack on Megaman before the battle. That's really all it is, in my eyes. The end-game scene certainly brings up debates as well, on how to build a rocket. I couldn't agree more with Tron if they keep using a ton of money at every attempt if they keep failing. I'd only spend money on something I know would WORK. More food for thought.
Just imagine, when Saphiramites begin appearing once Legends 3 comes up. lol
And- there's still time. Legends 3 is a pretty powerful subject for this board. Perhaps as the date of release (there isn't one for sure yet) draws closer, many of the older members in the threads I've seen will return. It'd be a real shame if they didn't.
But yeah, I mostly just wanted to state my opinion on Roll vs Tron. ;D

I'm pretty sure it's because Roll doesn't shop for upgrade parts in the Black Market, unlike Tron.

Ahhh Exo, you need to draw that out to it's conclusion! "I knew you would never say things like that!" " say things like what? Are you ok Megaman? You didn't hit your head or anything... Did you? Guess what's for dinner, it's your favorite, pizza!" "look at him, talking to her like they don't have a care in the world, made a fool of me again" "it was a good idea, but it looks like their faith in each other can't be broken..."
Yeah... Pretty sure the end of that battle was a
Roll: 1 Tron: 0 Sort of situation
It's late so I don't want to go on a full on rant on everything that proves roll is better. But Megaman legends 2 is very obviously tailored in favor of roll ending up with Megaman. Tron basically wears out her over aggressive wish-he-was-mine acts from the very beginning. Roll gets a bad rap because of game mechanics, like explaining away Megaman's weapons as being sold for the engine, or that she is Stealing from him at horrible prices for weapons development, but you can't blame game development on a character who quite obviously loves Megaman. Seems odd that a person would do these sorts of things given that she loves him, and says so specifically. But don't get me wrong, I love Tron. Honestly, they make the game worth playing, but in the end Megaman and roll will most likely end up together. Tron and Megaman are fundamentally incompatible, and it just wouldn't work. There is no way a tronite could ignore the fact that roll loves Megaman as does Tron. But for the same reason a 10 year old boy pulls on a girls hair that he likes, it does the complete opposite of what is intended. In this case, however, Tron is trying to actively hurt Megaman, and roll. The selfishness and egocentricity that Tron has basically comes to the conclusion that if she can't have him, then hurt the one who can. That selfish attitude is completely at odds with megatons quite selfless heroic actions. And while you can always quote the opposites attract argument, it doesn't follow logically in this situation. Basically, for Megaman to become involved with Tron, he would have to allow others to be hurt, physically or otherwise, and do nothing about it. Does that sound like him to you? No. In fact, if you argue the game mechanics that roll is bad for Megaman, Tron is downright terrible. But I don't like those arguments. The "do u see a door" annoyingness or that roll is stealing from you... That's just stupid and I hate it when people justify their hatred of roll by using it as a scapegoat. The bottom line is that Tron is the underdog, and while you always want that person to have a happy ending, it isn't usuall the case when a bad guy loves he good guy. So here is my prediction, and it really is the only logical one for MML 3. Tron can't change what she is, because the game would lose a really good character arc, and because she won't be giving up her aggressive pirate selfishness, she will have to make the choice of giving up on Megaman. BUT fear not. More than likely, whoever sephira will be travelling with, there will be a guy. That guy will save her life. Tron will be confused about her feelings, but he won't be. She will fall for him and you will all be pissed. But then again, roll may not fare better. Sephira will either idolize Megaman, and follow him around like a lost puppy, which sounds pretty legendsy storyline like to me, or she will be comic relief of tense situations and won't be a direct relationship with Megaman. I think sh will probably just screw up, and be the new jar jar binks. Roll is at an impasse, game development speaking. Megaman is either going to end up with her, or they will make it a sibling relationship and they won't end up having any relationships. Unfortunately this seems most likely, to be honest. Capcom may not be willing to alienate the fans in such a way, as they may think that it would hurt sales. Plus... Too young.... Aren't they all like... 14? In the end it's pretty clear though
In a real life relationship, if this wasn't a game, roll would win
And because it is a game.... None of them will. I'd bet money on it. But that won't stop me... Roll can just freaking be MY freaking girlfriend.
(edit: i know it seems like I have bad grammar and spelling and all my ideas come out rushed... But it's this predictive text iPhone I keep coming on here with lol it's messing what I say up, so just ignore that everything looks like it was written by a noob lol)

Not this shit again.
Who cares about the romance? Are we turning into Twilight fans or something? As a rigid Tronite, who Megaman ended up with was never an issue for me. In fact, I never wanted Tron to be with him because he's
BORIIIIIIIIIING!
(As well as borderline illiterate and suffering from reverse puberty. What, I don't play these games for him.)
The core of this issue was always that Tron is simply a badass in every way compared to Roll. She has a more interesting personality, she's more independent, she's tougher in or out of a mech, and she's definitely smarter. When Roll builds a gigantic airship, huge battle mechs like Bruno, or an army of indestructible, sentient machines from scratch, I'll give her some credit.
Oh, but Roll gets Megaman. Two stale, boring people destined to be with one another forever. Yawn. Once she got over her crush, I'm sure Tron would realize that a relationship with him would have ended in a week after she got tired of putting puzzles together on the Flutter.
Roll sits on a ship, takes her man's money, and caters to his every whim. Tron makes her own damn money, goes on exciting adventures, and generally leads a more interesting life. She even saved the whole world from being dominated by a fat pedophile once! Roll fixed up an old bus.
And touching on Tron's personality, she's a complex person. You know, like most real people are. While Roll is your standard Mother Theresa hero character, Tron is far from being the mustache-twirling villain. Will she pillage an entire island to turn a profit? Sure, that's how she rolls. But she's also a very sympathetic person. She helps more people than she hurts in TMoTB. Just look at Denise. Tron felt so bad about routinely ruining her life that she gave her credit for capturing Glyde and Loathe, who she could have just left for dead in the ocean. Oh, and the whole reason Kattelox didn't get obliterated in the first game was because Tron and Tiesel rescued Megaman after he destroyed almost everything they owned. Meanwhile, Roll sat on the Flutter and looked distressed.
And no, whatever tail Tron chases in MML3 for a cheap thrill won't bother me. She'll still be ten times more of a person than Roll will be.

(Just to make it clear, I don't really have any preference/opinion at all when it comes to TvR, but I felt this might need to be pointed out.)
The thing about Tron, though, is that she's had three games of character development. It's only natural for her to seem more three-dimensional, you can't help but not notice if only by brute force of raw gamage. Add to that she's a 'sympathetic villain' character, the type who always gets more development than the hero for some odd reason (kind of backwards when you think about it, eh? Should be at least be made equal-it'd make for a more balanced story), and it's no wonder some people can relate more to her over Volnutt. 0_o

Hey, it's not my fault that the developers are Tronites.
Which is good, because can you imagine The Misadventures of Roll Caskett? You would send Megaman out on missions to get the money and parts needed to make tiny weapons that Tron could probably use to build WMDs. Occasionally you could venture out of the Flutter to buy groceries so that MM can make your meals when you get pissy because you didn't get what you wanted. I mean, he already does everything else for you, so why not?
Oh, or how about Legends Roll in the MvC games? Her only move would be to use MM as a meat shield until the other player got bored and quit.

LOL ohhh 42's view on things in here just makes me laugh. Couldn't be any more accurate either, based on what the developers have put into the game so far.

Tron would probably be a better fit for Jerry Springer cause she's likely to punch someone in the face. Roll would probably end up on Oprah because she's likely to be a founder of those heritage TV shows which are getting to be popular these days. I'm not sure if that's helping me or hurting me but at least Roll's not jailbait. Oh, and a Gaiden game is a Gaiden game. Those're made because they need to explain why a character acts strangely in the main games and provides reinforcement as to why they got such a big role in the first place. At least Roll doesn't need a Gaiden game to explain why she's in the games.

So your opinion of which talk show they would end up on is as legitimate as an actual game that was made featuring one of the characters?
No. No, no.
No.
Ah, I guess I'll respond to the rest of it as well.
Wikipedia definition of jailbait: ...a person who is younger than the legal age of consent for sexual activity, but physically mature enough to be taken for an adult.
1. Relevance?
2. According to what I've seen on the internet, there are a lot of people who consider them both to be jailbait. In fact, a Google search implies that more people view Roll in this manner. I typed Roll Caskett into my Google toolbar and the first suggestion to expand on her name was Roll Caskett Rule 34.
When searching Tron Bonne, Tron Bonne Rule 34 was the third suggestion. (Tron Bonne wiki and cosplay were the first two.)
And I looked up Gaiden games. They can be used to explain a character's origins or why they received a large role in another game. They can also just be used to add a side story featuring a well-liked character. Either way, I don't see how Tron having one would be a bad thing, which you seem to be implying. Roll doesn't need a Gaiden game because you can explain her boring-ass life in a short paragraph. Because she couldn't sell one, because no one thought she warranted an interesting back story that couldn't be explained away in an instruction manual. Because he's Megaman, so there must be a Roll.
I imagine one of the developers commented, "Now we don't have to make a fun game for the fans to make this dopey red bitch seem interesting!"
