I'm sure a lot of you have heard about this game, but I've been playing it for the past week or so. I had been very excited about it when it was still in development, but having played the completed version now, I must say, it's incredibly fun. MegaMan really has one of the best fanbases. Here's a trailer of the game. I think it'd be cool if some of the forum members started playing this together. Maybe even host our own server. Nonetheless, you should give it a try. cutstuff.net/blog/The download is gonna be allll the way at the bottom of the page.

Does that game use Minecraft as a base and tailor it into a MegaMan deathmatch?

Wow, I'm impressed that something 8-bit can look so good in a 3D environment. I'm bored (and frustrated) very easily by first person shooting and rarely compliment them but it looks like a very fun game. Thanks for sharing, Kobun. Sadly, I won't be able to participate since I don't have a computer with internet access at home and the internet provider at my dorm is hideously slow though that might be an advantage if I lag so much as dodge bullets by warping across the screen if that's possible?
The only shooting games I remembered really enjoying were Virtua Cop 2 and Project Horned Owl. Neither of which are very good games by today's or back-then's standards. I'm probably not very suited for shooters since I often found the controls awkward (Halo 2), or there were too many controls to learn (MGS4), too difficult and have no story (Counterstrike), or often too scary to play for long (Bioshock and Left for Dead). So part of the reason I evaluate shooters so negatively is probably because I'm playing for different reasons than the people who enjoy them.

Yeah, I was also impressed by the fact that they took NES sprites and made it work into a complete 3D game. That's what hooked me. I'm sorry to hear about your internet connection. It seems it's been like that for you for a while now. I'm kinda in the same boat as you, as I have the crappiest internet connection you can get from Comcast at my dad's house, shared with my family and their four other computers, at all times... I do experience a lot of online lag occasionally on this game, but it does work to my advantage in certain situations. hahah And honestly, I agree with this type of FPS. It does get a bit boring at times with the normal gameplay. That's why I usually play the Roboenza mode that was recently released. It's fun running away from a zombie Yellow Devil, or running after people as a zombie Splash Woman. hahah It is a fun game, though. I wish you were able to try some of it online. Does that game use Minecraft as a base and tailor it into a MegaMan deathmatch? I'm not sure... I think it's just a Doom 2 mod that CutmanMike made.

College campuses often restrict bandwidth to prevent people from using their computers for online gaming and more for actual schoolwork. I had that problem once but we created enough complaints that they lifted the restriction after a while.
