I loved Degeneration, mainly only cause I'm nuts for Resident Evil 2, and the whole movie felt like nothing but fan service for RE2 fans. It'd be interesting if Chris and Leon actually work together on screen for once in the series. Lickers are cool, but that stupid roar sound they make is ridiculous. Lickers sounded horrifying in RE2, in the trailer it sounded like Leon was fighting in a Lion's den.
I'm sure it'll be much better than the terrible live action movies. I just hope it has a good story to tie in with the games, and not be just some crazy action movie. I hope Claire is in it, she was so good in Degeneration, love that character.

Lion's den, lol, I had the same thought. Whereas the live action movies seem to fixate on Alice, the CG movies seem to be about Leon all the time. That alone makes me want to watch the CG movies. Edit: But being a Japanese CG movie based on a video game, I don't expect a quality story. I feel the same way towards English live action movies based on games. What I'll like to know is how those lickers took out that tank.

There's a right way to do things and a wrong way.
Wrong Way: Final Fantasy. The Spirits Within
Right Way: Final Fantasy Advent Children
(Or so I've heard. I haven't watched Advent Children but I heard it was leagues better than Spirits Within. Spirits Within should've just dropped "Final Fantasy" from its title.)

Gee, Sim, I'm unsure about that.
Advent Children (at least the original release; I've never seen the revised one) has just about as non-existent a story and character development as The Spirits Within, and relies entirely on its CG effects (and familiar faces from FF7 in the former) to blow away its audience (or failing to at times). AC is a poor sequel because it spends more time dwelling on Cloud and his encounters with the evil trio (and later quatro) instead of presenting to the audience what our favourite characters from the game are doing now, answering unexplained questions or elaborating on key scenes, and showing the state of the world in the aftermath of Sephiroth's defeat. It tries to, but only very superficially.
And come on, Advent Children is even more nonsensical a title than The Spirits Within, especially if it's true that the name was a 'gattai!' (Let's combine!) because someone wanted to call it Advent while another person wanted the word, Children, in the title.

Possibly. As I said, I haven't seen AC even. I've had no interest in FF7 since its fanbase became so mad and raving that it's nauseating just to pick up the case.
Well I guess it's true what they say. Screenplay writers for video games don't play video games. I don't think there have been any games that have accurately translated into a movie throughout the entire screenplay (or the Big Screen types at least - anime not included). Although I hear Tomb Raider did pretty well at that which may be why it got sequels.
As for SW, it totally didn't feel like a Final Fantasy to me. I think that Cid was the only thing that was brought in from the games. I don't even remember seeing a Chocobo. However, the antagonist guy kinda reminds me of Seifer if you're shooting for Brownie Points.

What I'll like to know is how those lickers took out that tank. Hahaha, exploding kamikaze Lickers! Hell, after playing the newer RE games I wouldn't doubt something like that!
