So here's a question I've been pondering lately. We're all familiar with the Mega Man series and I'm sure most, if not all, of us look fondly back at the very first Mega Man game as the game that started it all. The NES being very new and Mega Man being one of its earlier games, the game didn't have much plot and it only had six robot masters rather than the established eight.
But then some 19 years later a remake, Mega Man: Powered Up comes along, which retcons two new robot masters, not to mention some additional plot and dialog.
So my question is: Should we consider Mega Man Powered Up to be a part of Mega Man canon? I frequent the Mega Man Knowledge Base (the Mega Man wiki) and they're ambiguous on this matter. So my question is do you consider it to be canon, and what are your reasons for doing so/not doing so?

No. It's not. That's not a bad thing, though. I haven't played Powered Up(though I've been meaning to and understand what parts of the new mode make for some continuity issues) and MegaMan 1 was the first of the Classic series that I beat which makes it one of my favorites of the original series, but I'm still very interested in playing MegaMan Powered Up despite the aforementioned continuity issues.
