hey i don't know if there was a thread for this or not (if so no one's used it for a long time) but anyway this is just a thread to talk about a really cool series called jak and daxter. has anyone here played them? if not i highly recommend them, they are making a new jak game eventually for the psp and ps2 if you're a fan of the series ^^

I'm a pretty big fan of the series. The Precursor Legacy was my first PS2 game, and I was hooked on the series form there. I wasn't sure if I liked the new direction that the series was going in, what with the guns and the dystopian future setting for later games and all. Being that the first game was a much more friendly adventure game, it was almost like they were putting a gun in Mario's hand or something.
But the second two games had much better characters, more intricate plots and more risque humor. I've never played Jak X because racing games make me furious. Jak 2 and 3 made me mad enough sometimes with their irrelevant racing missions, and I wasn't going to endure a whole game of that. To be honest, I never finished Jak 3 because it pissed me off. I want to go back and finish it but PS2 component cables yadayadayada.

uhhh racing games make you furious? I enjoyed the games, i know how you feel about jak x though. I personally decided not to buy it due to it being only racing. I mean if i want a racing game why wouldn't I buy need for speed? Anyway I hope the next one is better, it's called "the lost frontier"

I own the series; it's pretty good. I don't care for the first one much; but 2 and 3 are superb. Jak X is so-so because I don't care for most racing games - BUT - Jak and Keira finally kiss at the end; so I'm happy with the game for the sole reason that it gave me fluff.
I'm not even going to touch the new airplane one or whatever it's supposed to be about. No Dark/Light Jak; no real guns; no real relevant plot; few to none of my favorite side characters returning; and Jak's new haircut is atrocious.

Plus I think they changed Jak's voice... I don't know how they managed to mess up the series that bad, they should've just made a Jak 4 or something after X that wrapped up the plot with the same mechanics as the original trilogy..... I as well do not own The Lost Frontier, my cousin does and he said it's not all that great.

Lol, I just see the title "Jak and Daxter" and I smile.
I know the original series pretty well due to watching parts of walkthroughs. Unfortunately, and this applies to ML as well, I haven't been able to analyze the storylines as often as I wanted because I'm kinda playing the nerd card on a MMORG at the moment. :x
I think the overall storyline is pretty well thought out though. Daxter's transformation, invasions, desert riding, evil plots... It just seems to completely spell out "Ratchet" for me. xD
