Data that mysterious robot...origins and purposes?

He usually saves your game and refiles your health but at the end of the game I was surprised to hear him talk for once -.- How did mega man obtain data anyway? Was he built by mega man as a fragment of his memories and also to prevent mega mans memories from being read? Or is he part of the eden faction having some control over eden. I haven't played Mega man Legends 2 but I hear he has some role in uncovering Mega man Trigger's past. If anyone knows more about this please don't hesitate to help or post a reply. This is my first Thread post here. hope it brings in some good speculation

if we explain it to you, we would spoil you almost all the game.
just lets say that megaman and data are old friends.
you should play the 2, if you liked mml, the second one is actually a lot better

Ah I see I see...well anyone know where I could find Megaman legends 2 for the computer? is it for sale in Canada or does anyone know a good site with the ROM on it? I found the first MML no prob on the internet but I could not find the second one.
