I have also heard the news about MM9, and there is something interesting about it, actually, since the scans and info indicate a few things...
A. This game is being made with the help of Inticreates (is that the right spelling), makers of the Zero series, so the gameplay should be spot on. I mean, isn't that the whole point of a Megaman game, the gameplay?
B. There is a female Robot Master in the roster this time around, by the name of Splash Woman. Guess Wily figured that it was time for a bit of a changeup in designs or something...
C. The plot is supposedly that Wily is saying the Dr. Light is the one responsible for the robots that are attacking this time around, and Megaman has gone to go fight these robot masters in order to find out the truth and clear his creator's good name...
D. It is said that Protoman is an actual playable character in this game, although this is only something that I've heard as a rumor. If anyone can confirm this info, I would appreciate it.
And I've said my piece for the day, kitsu.

Srsly though. Mega Man 9, after all these years. It renews my hope of an eventual Legends 3 and MMX9.

I really can't see why people are excited about this. Instead of making an honest sequel, they threw together some 8-Bit crap to get fans to shut up. If they even bother continuing the original series after this, they'll all just be a bunch of 8-Bit arcade games with absolutely no originality... Just like the rest of the Original series....
Now I see.

Nothing was thrown together.

So, they're classic. So what? At least they tried to improve the games graphically with 7 & 8. They didn't even try with this one.
"Well. People want MM9, but we don't feel like putting forth any effort to make a good sequel. Let's just give them the same 8-bit game they've already played six other times. Hell, we can just keep going indefinitely now that we're committed to avoiding quality. Money, here we come!"
If I wanted to play MM9 I could just play MM, MM2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL EXACTLY THE SAME. WHY DO PEOPLE ENJOY THIS?
People like this shit, and not MML? Are MM fans absolutely retarded? Do they hate stories, good characters, and actual quality that badly?

No such thing was said about Megaman 9. I see nothing wrong with 8-bit games. However I do think the repetitive story isn't worth much & I find it dissaponting that people always choose Original MM over MML or even fail to acknowledge MML as a game.
For the sake of PWNAGE. "Is our Admin absolutely retarded?" Here is what Superdanny says about MM9 taken out of a conversation with SD

Well, yeah. It was in Japanese, so I'm sure that's not how it's translated exactly. And Danny can at least appreciate MML, so he's not retarded. I am confused as to why he would be excited for a game he's already seen and played, though.

*cracks knuckles, dusts off long argument hat, and puts it on*
Now, let's get this underway, shall we?
There is absolutely no reason the simple fact that it's 8-Bit will, or can, ruin Mega Man 9. It's about the gameplay, and from what I've seen, it's a step up from previous titles.
Yes, the graphics are that of several years back, but that's one reason why I'm looking forward to MM9 - It has the potential to prove to gamers and developers alike: Graphics aren't everything in a game. Sure, we'd all like a Mega Man game with Advent Children graphics, but in that scenario, they would devote so much time and effort to the graphics, there would be one of two results - an awesome looking game, with horrible music, characters, and gameplay. Or, it would be an awesome game, great in every aspect, and it would take 3-4 years to complete.
MM9 is a return to the days of gaming when graphics didn't mean everything - the gameplay did. Yeah, we are Capcom's suckers - we'll buy any rehashed, recreated MM game they throw at us, but MM9 is not one of them. They made an interesting spin on the plot, even if we all know Wily's the one who's really behind it. They introduce a female Robot Master, and even if she is a stereotypical mermaid character, she's still a rather surprising departure from the Mega Man norm.
The point is - It's a new Classic Series game, that still manages to differ from it's predecessors. If you choose to hate it because of the graphics, so be it. Meanwhile, the rest of the fanbase and myself will be enjoying a thoroughly fun game.

*Dusts off the old OBNOXIOUS, POMPOUS WAY TO START A POST hat.*
You apparently read as far as "some 8-Bit crap...", because that's all you focused on. I made it very clear that graphics are not my main problem with this game.
Yeah, we are Capcom's suckers - we'll buy any rehashed, recreated MM game they throw at us.
I really hope you're speaking for yourself there.
but MM9 is not one of them.
Yes it is. Every title after the first MM was.
They made an interesting spin on the plot, even if we all know Wily's the one who's really behind it.
Then it isn't interesting! Besides, they basically did the same thing in 3.
They introduce a female Robot Master
WOAH, SETTLE DOWN, CAPCOM. Maybe by MM16, we'll have eight female robot masters. Because Wily is lonely.

*Dusts off the good old times when 42, Dynamo, and me argued over everything hat and put's it on*
"You apparently read as far as "some 8-Bit crap...", because that's all you focused on. I made it very clear that graphics are not my main problem with this game. "
certainly obvious.
"I really hope you're speaking for yourself there."
I really don't think he is.
"Yes it is. Every title after the first MM was."
Who needs change anyway?
"Then it isn't interesting! Besides, they basically did the same thing in 3."
There is just as many spins in the plot line Code Geass and it's certainly interesting.
"WOAH, SETTLE DOWN, CAPCOM. Maybe by MM16, we'll have eight female robot masters. Because Wily is lonely."
/sarcasm
*prepares for Dynamo to completly ignore me and go on as if I never posted this*

Actually, for once, exo, I'm just going to build on your post. "You apparently read as far as "some 8-Bit crap...", because that's all you focused on. I made it very clear that graphics are not my main problem with this game. "certainly obvious.Nay, I read the whole post. You seemed to be the most upset about the 8-Bit, so I figured I'd focus on that for the first post. "I really hope you're speaking for yourself there."I really don't think he is.Again, nope. I'm speaking for, like I said, Capcom's suckers. Those of us who buy pretty much every MegaMan game they throw out. "Yes it is. Every title after the first MM was."Who needs change anyway?I would usually agree there, but 42 also makes a good point. Yeah, Capcom hardly changes anything from Classic Game, to Classic Game. Because their logic is "if we make a game like the one before it, it will sell just as well!". Unfortunately, for a large portion of their customers, that logic works rather well. Otherwise, we would indeed have more varied games. I must disagree that every Classic Game isn't the same, however. MM8 was quite a departure from previous MM titles, both in art style and story. "Then it isn't interesting! Besides, they basically did the same thing in 3."There is just as many spins in the plot line Code Geass and it's certainly interesting.True, but one could say that for almost every single video game/anime plot. "Bad Guy causes havoc, or is planning to. Good Guy, usually some damned "chosen one" has to go beat him up, traveling first through some epic quest. The world rejoices when the hero wins. Woohoo." I have no idea what the hell Code Geass is, so no comment on that. "WOAH, SETTLE DOWN, CAPCOM. Maybe by MM16, we'll have eight female robot masters. Because Wily is lonely."/sarcasm42, you miss the point. They risked a change from an already established formula - eight robot masters, all ending in "Man". They change that around, change one to "Woman", and it actually does have more impact than one would expect. Though, upon hearing "Splash Woman" I knew Capcom would make her a mermaid-bot. Capcom lacks originality in boss design. Now, to end this apparent belief that I was only focusing on the graphics - True, the gameplay hasn't changed much, if at all, from previous Mega Man titles. But at least Capcom decided to vary the level designs. There are many new obstacles that have never been used before, as seen in the trailers and stage playthroughs. They even has the courtesy of creating plenty of new (some of which even look challenging, which is unusual) enemies and minibosses. From what I understand, they've added a lot of new animation abilities as well. A flicker effect for flames, as well as several others I read about/saw, but do not remember at the moment. Capcom did place an options screen, rarely seen in a MegaMan game, in which you can activate or deactivate these effects, if you want it to seem more old-school, or more new-school. Also, I hope no one is actually offended by these arguments. 'tis all good natured, nothing personal or offensive is meant or implied. 42, you are a most intelligent and resourceful debater; and exo has some good arguments sometimes, as well. EDIT: (Half-Joking when I say this..) Perhaps we should start a MLU debate club. If we all argued on the same side, rather than each other, we could probably convince a few dozen Legends-haters (like Chris Hoffman, and the guy on youtube) to stop their bullshit. Or at least we could make them look like fools in front of half the internet.
