Ok... it's FINALLY time to apply a more... "strict" rules and regulations system to MLU. Over the past few months, a lot of new members have joined the message board, and it's almost as if I'm seeing a whole new "generation" of members here now. So many old ones gone, yet new members right there to keep the boards active.
However, I now know that a message board with constantly changing members needs a more solid Rules System. Don't worry, I'm not gonna become a tyrant or anything, I just want everyone to know that I will be changing a few things. MLU will still be the fun place it always is, but this new Rules System should keep things a little cleaner is all.
Also, if you have anything againist the new rules, or would just like to discuss them, please please make a topic about it. This topic will be locked, and only used for archival purposes. MLU is for all of us, and everyone's opinion is very welcome.
(P.S. thanks to Typhon for submitting the rough draft of this new Rule System, and to SIM for editing)

MegaMan Legends Universe Rules and Regulations
SPAM
As probably of the biggest problems we have on the boards, it will be the first to be addressed. Up until now, the leniency of this board to its members on the proper course in making a post has been way too soft. The new laws of such are as follows.
Any and all spam The is written on the boards will no longer be couple with a million warnings. You get five, and five only.
Spam is defined as "Stupid, Pointless, Annoying Messages," annoying postage that adds no value to the topic or conversation at hand, or the advertisement of material unrelated to MegaMan Legends or similar topics. Spam is considered to be a post that has four words or less. (Sim, MBTOS) This also includes flaming, bashing, or anything that would be, but not necessarily resulting in, the defamation of a member.
This is by far the most underlooked thing so far on the Forums, but not anymore. I myself will personally oversee warnings to the members if I have to. All Laws on spam will be upheld, and there are no chances for wheedling out of the punishment that is due to you.
But, I believe that spam is something that is just going to keep coming, no matter what we intend to do with it now, many people won’t listen. However, I believe that a certain extent of punishment is probably a good show of the seriousness of the situation. Therefore, a term of suspension will be given to any and ALL members who do not follow the rules of the board. Being crazy and fun is acceptable, being pointless and annoying is not, and no longer will pointless, and also some scary, topic be kept in the circuit of normal posting.
If you get warned for SPAM 5 times, you will be banned from the Message Board for a certain period of time (like a week or 2). This is called a Ban Suspension. After that amount of time, you are welcomed back, completely forgiven. However if you are unable to learn from the suspension, and continue to annoy everyone, a permanent ban will be issued.
NEW LAWS AND COMPLAINTS
(A new level of interactivity. A message board for the people, by the people)
Over time, the need for change will be necessary again, I can tell, because that remains true in everything.
This is brand new to the boards, and I believe that anything that needs changing should be up to the members to decide. You cannot put that much pressure on three people. The results could be, well, not very fun.
That’s why I believe this will work. One member, for instance, can call upon any issues of a member, and he can find two other members who have the same problem. They can then bring this up to the administration, and they can decide if the problem is worth discussing. The members can also ask for change, not just complaints.
For instance, if there should be a change in the rules:
You see something is wrong, and you bring it up before the other members, and they can vote on the issue at hand. Think of this as a Judicial system. However, the Staff members of MLU will have the final say on any problem with a member. And if all the members vote for something, it is hard to ignore.
If there is change deemed necessary:
If you want to change the rules, send a PM straight to one of the mothers for review, and then all of us can decide the correct path to follow. The mods will the create the topic, if necessary, stating the problem and stating the solution.
Voting on the real issues is a power to the people that almost no board has. Anywhere. And it is to be treated with respect. If you abuse this right, you will no longer participate. This a new idea, and any suggestions can be made. But this is something that makes other sites look a little silly. This may change, depending on what you want
As it stands right now, any change deemed necessary should follow these guidelines:
If you have a problem, you should explain clearly why something is wrong and explain how you want it changed. Next, you need to find two other people that feel the same way. You should group together mainly so that there aren’t any pointless, one-sided complaints or requests. Do this over PM and don't go begging in a topic for people that you want help from. Then, go through a mod so that your group looks legit and confidential.
Note: Any truly legitimate request will probably have a senior member of the board as one who agrees with the argument.
Banning is also another critical issue. If people feel that a person needs to be warned about their actions, send a PM to an admin to bring up an issue. (This should only be done if the person didn’t already know before.) This person or a mod can bring the issue to vote. The person can defend himself or herself, and if the person will get banned, his or her banning may only be for a specific amount of time. This may or may not change based on how things turn out.
Basically, if you have any problem on this message board that you would like changed, instead of staying quiet and just "dealing" with it, TELL US! First, make sure you know 2 other members that agree with your complaint. Then, send either me or any other staff member here your problem, AND request and/or possible solultion in the form of a Private Message. Then we will decide to look over the problem. If it's big enough to involve EVERYONE'S opinion on it, the Staff will create a Voting Topic concerning it. This new system should now make this message board very great, now everyone can express their opinions, and problems will be solved much faster.
DEATH THREATS, GRAMMAR, AND DOUBLE POSTING
These rules do not change. If there is any threat to another person, or any slander in any way, you will be warned, or you may be banned outright. This is a message board, not some hate mail site.
Grammar is always a problem. I myself can’t spell. But everyone can understand the fact that if you can’t READ the posts, then they shouldn’t be there! Sorry, but the thing is that most people don’t seem to understand this simple-to-understand fact. Any such grammar problems will give you warnings, but really, you shouldn’t worry because you aren’t in trouble. Unless you really happen to anger members, then you might be in trouble.
Double posting is really not an issue anymore. There is no such thing as double posting. It’s gone, vamoose. But if it ever does return, think of punishment along the lines as grammar.

This topic was only created to announce the new change in the system now. As I said in the beginning, please feel free to create a topic if you have any questions, complaints or concerns about the new rules.
THANK YOU!! AWWWW THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can't believe you actually made it this far, you just read A LOT... you better go play a Legends game or something just to even out your mind. Thank you for reading the new rules system, if you actually read everything, then you shouldn't have any problems here really.
Long Live Legends!
