Ok, I've gone over this several times, so I thought I'd make it official.
THIS GOES FOR ALL RP'ING ON THIS BOARD!
EDIT: ADDED BY SuperDanny: "First off, you CANNOT use the Role Playing message board unless you have at least 25 posts (spamming the boards will only hurt you), and you don't have any kind of negative reputation (this includes Staff Member warnings, or recent rule breaking). After you have these requirements, you can create characters and stories, however entering your character into someone else's story requires the topic creator's approval." -SuperDanny
Role Playing Rules
1) No controlling other peoples' characters
Many fight in the years I have RP'ed have come from this problem. If someone controls other peoples' characters, it tends to lead to fights and such. Don't control characters without permission. Easy enough to understand, right?
2) No killing other peoples' characters
People hate it when they get killed off and have to find some looney way to bring themselves back. This rule keeps the story sane most of the time, though people should discuss if there will be a death beforehand. Otherwise, there are big power struggles.
3) No powerstruggles
Keep things simple. Someone has to win in a fight, and someone has to lose. If people recoil like a DBZ match, things get way out of hand. Also, try to keep things short, for about a page or two, and no more. Otherwise, it DOES turn into a DBZ match. It helps to do the matches over PM or over an IM service.
Thanks all. I really needed to make this topic because of how things have turned out with people not knowing about the basic rules of roleplaying.
Upon further review, I have realised that no person is allowed to RP if they have been getting warnings about bad posts or bad posting style. If a person is very close to being banned, they are not allowed to RP whatsoever.
This rule is a safeguard against whether or not the person gets banned or not. If the person gets banned, they leave a gaping hole for the rest of the good posters to fill. Therefore, no one close to being banned is allowed to play in an RP and is not allowed to create topics on the Role-Playing Board.
