Am I the only one who likes 6 more then 5? I found a hint of charm in X6, a small hint but still something to admire... X5 though, the whole game just, irritates me.

To revive this ancient topic...yes, I liked 6 more than five. The Nightmare Soul level-up system was enjoyable (especially since I got to keep shredding that STINKIN' Dynamo to get the Souls ), and the parts system was more understandable than that of X5. But the best part was the armor upgrades available. No more clumsy Gaea Armor - now we get the Blade Armor and Shadow Armor, which were really great assets in X6. And the improved Ultimate Armor was great too. Albeit the X6 Maverick names in N.A. STUNK, big time...Infinity Mijinion and all that junk...Why couldn't Capcom stick with the old style, like Storm Owl and Jet Stingray? Why transliterate the Japanese?

I don't really see why people think X6 was so horrible. I liked it. especially the Shadow Armor. =D X5 was horrendous. The only good part was Dynamo. and that Zero looked kickass with his evil form. X7... I hated. They should have never made it. The only good thing, was Axl. Which of course, Danny will argue with. >.> *gets out anti- axl hater pooding guns*

X-1 was my first game, while X-6 was possibly my favorite, then X-4 and X-3.

X1 was th first and i could never get pats the spider boss (yes i was around5-7 when i got it and i got to the spider boss one of the hardest bosses in the game. I Had all the armor except the arm part which i eventually got from Zero and then still didn't have all the heart tanks or the energy tanks and i got that far, i beat him on Maverick hunter X though!!!)
After that i got X5 with my ps1 and actually loved it!!!! (maybe it was because i got to play as zero.......) then was X6 which i also loved!!!!!! Oh and i beat both of them..I beat X5 several times through then i got X7 with my PS2 and it ruined the X series for me (that and my memory card got erased so i gave up........I Had almost every piece of armor too!!!!). Then i got Maverick Hunter and beat it really easily!!!! and now i have the X collection.

x collection eh well it's pretty good but the only one I can beat is X5 why why why can't you nova strike the other last bosses to death (except X6 can't make it past the 2nd part of gates fortress).

I tried to start in order and after many painstaking hours trying to beat the freaking spider boss and finally beating him i decided to see how quick it would take me to beat X5 and realized that with Zero, Once you get the C-Saber you can breeze through EVERY SINGLE BOSS!!!!
Oh and SD i really liked X6 but my favorite is probably....*thinks hard*maybe it is X6 but i remember going through X5 by screwing around and wanting to find out what Enigma Shot was!!!!!

I remeber shooting the enigma and skipping ALL the stages (except d.dizzy because you need the time freeze for laser part of Σ fortress)

I never played X8 so is there anything where you could skip ahead on it like on X5 with Enigma Shot and Shuttle Launch?

I hereby resurrect this thread!
I know this thread is old, but hey, I'm new here. My first X game was Mega Man X4. When I was a kid, after the NES became obsolete we never got an SNES. Instead our parents bought us a Sega Genesis. So I never played Mega Man 7 or Mega Man X-X3 until I got the Mega Man Anniversary Collection a few years ago. When PlayStation came out, our parents bought that, too. That was the last console someone bought for me. When PlayStation 2 came out I was working a full-time job so I was able to buy it myself.
But then I saw that there was a Mega Man title for PlayStation (Mega Man X4, obviously). So I bought it and played it. It actually wasn't that difficult. The later X titles are definitely harder. But it still remains my favorite title. I love the fact that you can play as both X and Zero, and that you pick one for the entire game rather than switching them out. I'm also glad they are so different (i.e. X is a long-range fighter, and Zero is a melee warrior), which definitely makes playing through the game as X and Zero each worth it (not to mention the slightly different plotlines). I have since played all the games in both Anniversary Collections, but Mega Man 3 remains my favorite of the classic series and Mega Man X4 remains my favorite of the X series.
