I walk into the streets of this city, and what do I see?
Nothing. The desert sand blows against the tall gray skyscrapers. It seems like this place has been deserted a long time ago. I hear the crushing of an empty soda can against pavement in one of the alleyways between two buildings... I go to the alleyway, but I decide to stop and try to read the signs on the buildings. Some of the letters are scratched off, so one reads G N R L and the other says H P...
I wander down the alleyway, and see my younger brother... I ask him: "Why are you here?"
His reply: "I come here and look for signs of life every day. Surprised you didn't realize that yet." And he scurries into the street. I follow.
While walking by, I see numerous torn up flyers... They were something about those old heated debates my brother and I used to attend with a few of our friends in this city.
I wonder "What ever happened to our good old pals?"
Brother answers: "I know where some of them are..."
He runs into the building labeled G N R L, and presses a button to call the elevator. The doors screech open, and we step inside. He then presses another button, I think it was labeled "3". The elevator whirs, and slowly ascends the building. It lets out a low-pitched "Ding!"
I walk into the room, a pure white room, one man stands, staring out the window at a car parked on the street. He turns around to welcome us.
"Oh, it's you two." He smiles, "Welcome back. I was wondering, could you go and gather some of the other people who still lurk inside this city and bring them back here?"
I look the man's face over. I realize he is- well, was- one of the mayor's advisers. The mayor and the other adviser seem to have left a long time ago.
I acknowledge his request with a nod, and he sends us off with a "Good Luck!"
Later, we traveled into the depths of the city... I think the place we walked into was the place where we'd talk about Video Games every once in a while.
I see a shape scurry by. I get ready to fight. It's hiding under that table, I know it. I raise my hand and get ready to strike it. I stop and look at the shape in front of me. I realize it was one of my best friends, one that I would willingly take orders from.
He stands tall, and he shakes my hand and says: "Good to hear from you again."
I look at his tired, stubble covered face, and say: "My God... What ever happened to this place? No one lives here anymore!"
"Things got slow about three months ago." My friend sighs, "The city's dead, Purifier."
"No! 42, it can't be dead!" I scream at the top of my lungs.
"It is. M.L.U. is dead. Only a chosen few remain, and only we chosen few can revive it." he bellows.
"Alright." I sniffle and stand up " Now we need to find Rain, Red and UndergroundRuin. Maybe a few others if we find them visiting our fair city."
Me, 42, and Snake wander off into upper M.L.U., hoping to find the small amount of people who gather here month after sandy, dry month.
