I got stole this idea from Starmen.net. How about this, and hopefully every Summer, we go out of our way to play through each of the games? Maybe include different challenges we can attempt to accomplish in each game, such as a speedrun with specific limitations and a time limit? I dunno, maybe it'll breathe some life into Legends.

I was never big on Speedruns. For a game like Legends, I want to take everything in slowly.
How about, for the first summer, the goal is just to beat each game?
June - TMoTB
July - Legends
August - Legends 2

There are a few codes I wanted to try this type of thing out with everyone. With what I had in mind I was thinking of making some EPSXE savestates with certain codes applied at the first of some of the games (to make it harder of course). Tell me what you think.
I don't like speedruns either.

That sound really cool for a challenge

Well, the speedrun was just an example. Other challenges could be no health upgrades, 100% item completion, and stuff like that.
Edit: Yeah, Undergroundruin, that would be fun.

I honestly haven't played the games in a few years. That might be the case with some other people, so that's why I just suggested beating the games.
Or we could make it a contest. By the end of the month, beat the game, with so many bonus objectives for points. At the end of the summer, we could tally up the points and find a winner. People would have to be honest, though.
And I have no idea what you're talking about, Undergroundruin.

I think we'd need the hardware for the savestates though.
Anyways, I also haven't played in a few years but after I finish a few other games I'm working on right now I might finish my TMOTB FAQ. I'm about halfway through the game and my FAQ is being written as I play the game.
The biggest problem with me going through the game is that I grow quite bored of it really fast with training the servbots and all. That's why I've only played through the game about 3 times where I've played through Legends 1 and 2 about 16 times.

Really, the whole point of this is just to renew interest in the Legends series. Beating them is the goal, the other challenges are just there for people who play it regularly(like me).

Well, my interest is already renewed.
...As soon as I can find some HD component cables for my PS2....

For those of you that do not understand about the savestates: you would have to have the emulator EPSXE 1.6.0 to play it.
OK, the first challenge I have come up with is to beat MML2 in very hard mode with this code. 8008C19C 0000. I chose to go with a code this time because it is required to constantly be on. This code is my combo hit code, and can be changed to a cheat for not being able to be hit by adding 00FF at the end instead of 0000.

I...don't have that.
And, to be perfectly honest, I'm not to excited about the prospect of playing high difficulties. I think we should play normal mode. Again, I haven't played in a while, so...not really up to jumping right into hard mode or super emulator code hard mode.

Like I said, you don't -have- to do anything you don't want to. If you want a challenge, give Undergroundruin's code a go(which I'll probably do, heh). If you don't, go ahead and try to beat the game normally, as fast as you want, with whatever completion you want. It's the spirit that counts.

I still haven't finished Legends 2. I'm stuck on the huge Reaverbot in the desert ruins.

I've just thought of one challenge out of the blue right now.
Very hard mode with no life upgrades or no canteen (either).
A challenge yes?
I didn't want to take more things out because it's the first year of doing it. But that's what I'm thinking of making a challenge of.

I only chose very hard mode because I didn't want people to come back here saying "that was easy". Besides its more meant to last as a challenge for the whole summer if not longer.
I think I should add Sim's challenge to mine. That should take me a year or so, lol.
If I can figure out the tiny megaman cheat. I think that would be fun too. Because its easier to dodge some things, but its a pain to shoot anything.
edit: Solid Snake you need to go past the big reaverbot, and stop the lava before you can kill the big reaverbot.
