here are a few horrible things roll has done
1st: ditch megaman in a ruin for 3 days
2nd: hit megaman with the support car
3rd: annoy megaman in canlica mine
4th: shove him in a can and launch him onto a frozen island
5th: sell all megamans weapons
6th last and most horrible reason: RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!
when faced with the
overexaggerated facts one most come to the conclusion that roll is obviously trying to kill megaman!! Roll has completely brainwashed you soon will all be in a state of poverty because you wasted your money on
weapons and
upgrades! Are you all blind to fact that roll has robbed megaman of his money and free will with the promises of apricot pie and pizza he would never receive!
Oh, I'm gonna have fun with you...
OBJECTION!There seem to be some holes in your claims.
1) This was during the first time Mega Man ever went out in a dig. Both he and Roll were very young and inexperienced at the time. As evidence, I quote Ms. Caskett,
"I wasn't used to being
a Spotter..."
"We were lucky that Gramps came to help us...I don't know what I would've done if
he hadn't been there..."
Obviously, she is expressing how worried she really was for him. There can be no other possibility than it was an honest mistake!
2) This? Really? You do realize that it IS possible - in game - NOT to get hit by the car. I'm pretty sure, if not being controlled by a crappy player, Mega Man would have the common sense to not get in the way of a vehicle driven by a then-inexperienced driver. Canonically, I'm sure he DID!
No evidence should be needed. It's just common sense. I reiterate, Everyone who's played the game knows it's possible to not get hit by the car. Ask anybody.
3) When? *In* the Abandoned Mine on Calinca Island? When they were looking for Joe? There was no annoying to be seen. The only reason Mega Man wanted her to stay on the first floor was to protect her. While exploring the ruin, she didn't do much hand-holding. Maybe she annoyed you, as a video game player - and many others it seems. I can understand the "state-the-obvious" crap, notably at the beginning of MML1 and some of the main dungeons in MML2, but as I will soon point out, she has many redeeming qualities... unlike a certain fairy from everybody's favorite game, OCARINA OF TIME....
My evidence? Either play through it again or watch a playthrough on YouTube. It should be self-evident.
4) Now this has obviously been taken out of context and twisted. I present to you a transcription of that event:
Roll (inside Flutter): I've loaded the dropship in the hanger, MegaMan!
This means we can get to Forbidden Island too! I have to make a few more
adjustments to its engines. Can you pilot the Flutter while I'm doing that?
Thanks!
MegaMan: Dropship? You're not going yourself, are you?
Roll: Of course! Don't forget, both my parents were Diggers! Besides...I'm
worried about Gramps!
MegaMan: But...I don't know how to fly the Flutter!
Roll: Don't worry! You can do it! If you have any problems, ask Data for
help! They say no one's ever returned from Forbidden Island alive...I can't
let you go there, MegaMan!
MegaMan: All the more reason why you shouldn't go! Don't worry--I'll go!
Roll: MegaMan...All right, then! Ready?
MegaMan: Yep!
END SCENE
Please note Mega Man's insistence on going to the Forbidden Island in place of Roll. Also note Roll's hesitation to agree (The "..." indicates this).
Obviously, they genuinely care for each other, and would sacrifice themselves for each other's well-being; thus, furthering my assertion that these allegations are false.
5) To upgrade the Flutter's engine... an engine that WON'T burn out constantly... on a ship that has a habitual tendency to fall apart... I'd imagine some costs would be quite high, especially for a really good engine.
From a gamer's perspective, this would be the equivalent of selling all of your video game consoles to build a good PC that can run any game, no matter however demanding, in 4K at a consistent 144 fps, and will still be able to run newer, more demanding games for a good seven years, on top of all other important uses a PC is used for.
I will concede to the fact that she should have told Mega Man beforehand. But even if she had, I'm sure he'd understand and agree.
Personally, I'm surprised how well Mega Man handled that news, but... he seems to have handled it well. Probably said something along the lines of "Next time, just tell me first" or something like that. Judging from his character.
6) Upgrading weapons is going to be costly - especially in the big upgrades that you really don't need anyway. If you have an S-Class License, enemies will drop LOTS of big refractor shards, thus earning you more Zenny. The thing about RPGs and RPG-like games is managing a budget. You don't need a maxed-out Shining Laser to beat the game, and I'm sure Mega Man was wise about what he can afford. If YOU want the most broken weapon in the game, then YOU have to grind for it. Have you any idea how much laser development costs in OUR world? Let alone one THAT powerful? It's the Exodia of Mega Man Legends sub-weapons.
Besides, she makes these weapons for free with random junk that's been lying around in the streets. And if you noticed, many of the upgrades you'll actually need aren't that expensive to begin with.
And before you bring up the living room repairs, new refrigerator, etc., keep in mind that these are beneficial to the whole household... shiphold? Whatever, they're not just for Roll. Also, with the fridge, Roll will leave special lunches inside just for Mega Man. These restore him back to full-health when consumed. All of these will earn you "good" points in the hidden morality system... Oh, yeah, there's a morality system that changes the way everyone - and Roll - views him in the game, depending on all the good or bad things you do. I believe canonically, Mega Man treated her right, and even got her gifts (on his own will) for which she expresses much gratitude.
And finally, my last piece of evidence that will blow this case wide-open... ROLL'S DIARY!!
Everybody knows that a girl's diary is where they keep their deepest, darkest secrets... let's see exactly what nasty things she says about him... shall we?
"MegaMan and I went looking for Joseph together. This was my first time to
go on a Dig with MegaMan--those Reaverbots are really scary!
I'm glad MegaMan was there to
protect me! I'm so lucky to have him around!"
"It looks like that Tron or whatever her name is was saying bad things about
me to MegaMan. I'll have to ask him what she said later."
"MegaMan's such a nice person--he always helps
people in trouble. I wish more people could be like him!"
"It's hard being a Supporter--not able to see
anything, relying just on sensors...I'll have to try harder next time--I owe
MegaMan that much!"
"I feel a little guilty--he always gives me
things, and I haven't given him anything back."
"I know I
shouldn't worry--MegaMan can take care of himself--but still, I hope he
doesn't get hurt."
"I realize now that everything I've done up until now is because I had
MegaMan by my side...I've only realized now how much I love him. I'm so
happy I have him in my life!"
Such "scathing" remarks, eh?
If she really hated him - if she were trying to kill him... she would have done it. She wouldn't have even thought about building the rocket.
There's no brainwashing or murder attempts involved. It is a true, genuine bond - they care for each other, they want the best for each other, they deserve each other, and goddammit, they need each other!
And your logic that "if there was no cutscene, it didn't happen" makes no sense. That's like saying that Mega Man never got lost on his first dig because they didn't show it. Or that Goku and Chi-Chi never "did it" between the end of Dragon Ball and the beginning of Dragon Ball Z.
